Die schwarzen und dunkelbraunen Muscheln im Klumpen sind Miesmuscheln. Miesmuscheln bilden klebrige Fäden um sich festzuhalten. Die Klebefäden (Byssusfäden) der Miesmuschel halten den Klumpen zusammen.
